Located on top of Mt. Lycabettus, Equinoxis is a quiet negotiation between the man-made and the natural. Inspired by the topography of the site and Athens’ rich history, this multifunctional cultural and sports center responds to Athens’ layered landscape, where mythology, topography and modern life intersect in harmony. Unlike traditional cultural complexes that often compete with their surroundings, Equinoxis seeks to compliment. The building acts as a transitional space – a threshold where culture and athleticism, locals and tourists, the past and the present, converge.
